QUERI Investigator Accomplishments

QUERI congratulates the following investigators for their outstanding work!

• Matthew Chinman, PhD, received the 2020 HSR&D Daniel Deykin Award for Outstanding Mentor, which is presented each year to an HSR&D researcher(s) who exhibits outstanding dedication in mentoring the next generation of researchers.
• Adam Gordon, MD, MPH and Hildi Hagedorn, PhD, LP, along with Ruth Klap, PhD, received the 2020 HSR&D Health System Impact Award. This award honors HSR&D- and QUERI-funded research that made a direct and important impact on clinical practice or clinical policy within the VA health care system – and that has been successfully translated into VA’s policy or operations.
• Donna Washington, MD, MPH, FACP, received the 2020 HSR&D Under Secretary’s Award for Outstanding Achievement in Health Services Research – the highest honor for a VA health services researcher.
• Donna Zulman, MD, MS, received Health Services Research’s James V. Burgess Methods Article of the Year Award, along with Noah Rosenberg, PhD, for their article titled “Measures of care fragmentation: Mathematical insights from population genetics.”

QUERI also applauds the following investigators for being named Implementation Science Faculty Leaders: Drs. A. Rani Elwy, Charlesnika Evans, JoAnn Kirchner, Anne Sales, and Lindsey Zimmerman!
