Acute Stroke Care Make/Buy
The VA Center for Applied Systems Engineering (VA-CASE), in conjunction with VA Stroke Care Specialists, has developed a business and management decision tool (Make/Buy Model) to provide users a cost comparison between the internal (make) and external (buy) treatment options for patients exhibiting symptoms of stroke at VAMCs. It is intended to provide data to assist in the decision to become a Primary Stroke Center (PSC), Limited Hours Stroke Center (LHSC) or Supporting Stroke Center (SSC) as defined by the VHA-Directive 2011-038.
